Dr. JJ Bechtel, originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, lives in Dewitt with his wife Stephanie and their two children, Joshua and Elizabeth. A passionate U of M sports fan, he enjoys traveling, fine dining, camping, and spending time outdoors with his family. His hobbies include cooking, gardening, playing guitar, and dreaming of a lake house in Northern Michigan.

With over 26 years of dental experience, Dr. Bechtel graduated from the University of Michigan and Hope College. He owns a private practice in Lansing and is dedicated to lifelong learning, completing advanced training at The Dawson Academy and The Schuster Center for Practice Development. A longtime participant in Dr. Latz’s and Dr. Kellogg’s study clubs, he shares their commitment to partnering with patients for optimal health and providing exceptional care.

With over 50 years of laboratory ownership, Glen Emrick II is a true master of his craft. Beginning his career as a laboratory technician in 1968, he established Hallmark Ceramic Laboratory in Jackson, MI, in 1974. Since then, Glen has played a vital role in our practice, crafting exceptional crown, bridge, and implant restorations with unparalleled precision.

Glen is one of only three accredited ceramists with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in Michigan and was among the first five ceramists worldwide to achieve this prestigious accreditation.

Today, he works exclusively with Dr. Kellogg, bringing an unmatched level of artistry and expertise to every case.

Abigail began her dental career in May 2023 after spending 15 years working in Behavioral Health. She studied Recreational Therapy at Eastern Michigan University and previously worked at Havenwyck Hospital and Henry Ford Health Systems, where she introduced patients to healthy coping skills and recreational activities.

While dentistry is still a newer field for her, Abigail is no stranger to healthcare and brings a deep passion for supporting patients in achieving their health and wellness goals.

Outside the office, Abigail coaches the Varsity Gymnastics team at Jackson High School and enjoys spending time with her husband and their two dogs—Keeley-Bones, a Bernedoodle, and Phoebe, a Shih Tzu.

Allison began her career in dentistry in 2003 as a co-op student through the Career Center. After graduation, she began working full-time and later attended Washtenaw Community College, where she earned her license as a Registered Dental Assistant along with an Associate degree in Applied Science. Her favorite part of working in dentistry is knowing that she’s helping provide the best possible care to patients—whether it’s relieving headaches with a bite splint, addressing a toothache, or witnessing the joy on a patient’s face when they see their new smile.

Allison married her husband, Douglas, in 2008. They have two adult daughters, Kassondra and Macey, and a son, Dallas, who is currently in high school. The girls have blessed them with five grandsons—Luca, Braxton, Bronson, Liam, and Noah. Outside the office, Allison enjoys cheering Dallas on at his athletic events and cherishing every moment of her treasured “Grammie” time.

Colleen received her Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) degree from Ferris State University and holds licenses for both EMS and laser treatment. She has been practicing in Jackson for several years and is dedicated to serving her patients with care and compassion. Colleen takes pride in making each dental hygiene therapy appointment a positive and comfortable experience.

She is married and enjoys spending her free time singing in her church choir—which once had the honor of performing at Carnegie Hall. A dog lover at heart, Colleen also enjoys going for walks and soaking in the simple joys of life.

Hannah has been passionate about dentistry for as long as she can remember. Since beginning her career in 2011, she’s worked primarily in orthodontics—helping patients achieve beautiful, confident smiles through Invisalign and clear aligner treatments.

A graduate of Washtenaw College with an Associate Degree in Applied Science, Hannah holds both a Certified Dental Assistant credential and Registered Dental Assistant licenses in two states. She’s proud to bring her experience and enthusiasm to the Kellogg & Latz Dentistry team each day.
When she’s not in the office, Hannah enjoys family time with her husband, two kids, and two energetic pets. Between church activities and youth sports, she stays busy giving back to her community. She also serves on the Board of Advisors for Washtenaw College, continuing to support the next generation of dental professionals.

Kassondra has a long-standing connection to Dr. Latz’s office—it’s a place she remembers fondly from her childhood, often visiting her mom, Allison, who has been part of the team since 2003. Inspired by her mother’s dedication to the field, Kassondra began her own dental career in 2017 as a co-op student during her senior year of high school.

Since then, she has worked as a chairside assistant and holds both her Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) and Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credentials, along with two associate degrees. Although trained as a Dental Assistant, Kassondra now serves as the Office Administrator. Her favorite part of the role is seeing patients on their journey toward better health.

Outside of work, Kassondra enjoys life with her husband, Brandon, and their two energetic boys, Braxton and Bronson.

Kelsie G. has been part of the Kellogg & Latz Dentistry team since 2019. She began as a Co-Op student through the Jackson Area Career Center and quickly transitioned into a full-time Dental Assistant after graduating high school. While working, she completed her prerequisites for dental hygiene school and went on to earn her Associate’s degree in Applied Sciences, Dental Hygiene from Jackson College in April 2023.

Kelsie’s passion for dental hygiene began in childhood, inspired by her own positive experiences at the dentist. She loves educating patients on how to achieve confident, healthy smiles and stays current in her field through her involvement with the Michigan Dental Hygienists Association.

Outside the office, Kelsie enjoys spending time with her animals—Roxy, her silver lab; JuneBug, her donkey; and Rain, her horse. She also loves getting away to her family’s cabin in Lewiston for trail rides and lake days.

Marie began her career in dentistry in 1985 after earning her Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential from Washtenaw Community College. She started working with Dr. Latz as a chairside assistant and later returned to school, earning her Dental Hygiene degree from Lansing Community College in 1991—after which she rejoined Dr. Latz’s team.

In 2017, Marie briefly stepped away from dentistry to work in financial planning but returned to Kellogg & Latz in 2020. Over the course of her 39-year career, she has witnessed remarkable advancements in dental technology, finding the changes both challenging and deeply rewarding.

Marie finds great fulfillment in partnering with patients to help them discover their personal path to better health—and values the many lessons she’s learned from them in return.

Sarah worked as a dental assistant for five years before becoming a registered dental hygienist in 2021.

She joined Dr. Kellogg’s team in 2022 and is certified in Guided Biofilm Therapy, laser therapy, local anesthesia, and nitrous oxide administration. Her passion for dentistry began with her own Invisalign journey, where she experienced firsthand how proper hygiene can improve both oral and overall health. She especially enjoys partnering with patients who are eager to do the same.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time on the lake, gardening, and working on craft projects. She and her husband, Daniel, welcomed their baby girl, Olivia, in March 2024 and share their home with two beloved cats.

Tracey graduated from Ferris State University in 1989 with a degree in Dental Technology and later earned her degree in Dental Assisting from Washtenaw Community College in 2004. With a passion for helping patients achieve brighter, healthier smiles, Tracey’s favorite part of dentistry is seeing the confidence that comes with a beautiful smile. She also leads all in-house and take-home whitening treatments at our office, ensuring each patient receives personalized care and radiant results.

She enjoys baking, gardening, spending time with family, and caring for her two dogs, Oakley and Rubee Blue. The most rewarding part of dentistry for Tracey is helping patients achieve a beautiful, healthy smile.

If you’ve ever been greeted by a wagging tail and big, soulful eyes, you’ve met Doc—our beloved therapy dog and official mood booster. As a certified therapy animal, Doc takes his job seriously—offering comfort, soaking up ear scratches, and mastering the art of the perfect nap.

With an uncanny ability to sense when someone needs extra love, Doc is always ready with a gentle nuzzle or a happy tail wag. When he’s not making new friends, you’ll find him curled up in his favorite spot, dreaming of treats. Be sure to say hello—he’ll gladly accept a scratch (or two) in return!
