Dr. Sara Kellogg

Dr. Sara Kellogg was born and raised in Michigan. She grew up in Lapeer, a small community nestled in Michigan’s thumb, playing sports and enjoyed being a small town girl. She thrived in the support of this tight community and consequently decided to continue her academic pursuits at a small college that had the same feeling of ‘home.’ In 1999, Sara began her pre-dental academic studies at Kalamazoo College, where she also pursued a four year collegiate basketball career and was a two-time captain. Sara met her husband, Nate Troyer, on the basketball court while attending Kalamazoo College. Their love of sports and competition initially drew them to one another. Sara graduated cum laude in 2003 and was also awarded the Cas Smith Award, given annually to the senior female athlete who demonstrates exemplary leadership during their four years on campus. Nate and Sara married in 2007. Dr. Kellogg is proud mother to Trenton, a six year old kindergartener who loves everything sports, and Devyn, a twenty-one month old daughter who is full of spirit and spunk and who loves everything that big brother has!

Dr. Kellogg attended the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She graduated near the top of her class and was awarded the Comprehensive Care award by faculty members. Immediately following dental school, she completed a one year residency at the University of Michigan and VA Hospitals in Ann Arbor. She has practiced locally in the Mid-Michigan area for the last eight years. She has a fierce love of learning and has logged hundreds of hours of continuing education. Her passion for learning led her on her journey to the Pankey Institute, where she continued to refine her technical and behavioral skills and has adapted a comprehensive advanced approach to dentistry. Her affiliation to the Pankey Institute afforded her the opportunity to begin to study with Dr. Latz and other like-minded dentists in small groups. Congruent with Dr. Latz’s practice philosophy, she feels strongly about practicing relationship based dentistry that is founded from the creation of trust. Dr. Kellogg believes that while in her care, patients should feel safe, well-informed and heard. She believes that optimal oral health is critically important. Everyone should have the opportunity to understand their state of health and have the information available to help them make the best choices for themselves.

Dr. Kellogg is affiliated with the following organizations:

  • American Dental Association
  • Michigan Dental Association
  • Jackson District Dental Society
  • Chicago Dental Society
  • American Equilibration Society

Dr. Kellogg is fun loving and has a great sense of humor! While dentistry is her outright passion, her family is the joy of her life. When she is not practicing or studying dentistry she enjoys watching her son play sports, laughing with her children, spending time with her family and friends, playing in the dirt in her gardens, doing cross-fit with her husband, running and cheering on her Wolverines!
